Choose New Habits You Want to Keep 6 Months Later

Make 2023 the year you break your habit of breaking new habits and resolutions!

Ever find yourself rushing out to restart gym memberships or commit to "getting healthy" mere hours after enjoying a champagne toast moments after the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve?

Too often, we create resolutions out of guilt or shame for living our lives in unhealthy ways. We make large, lofty declarations of starting new health habits and saying goodbye to bad habits, ultimately setting us up to FAIL big time!

Ambitious resolutions often backfire! Start small and only commit to making changes you are willing to consistently do 6 months from now. Otherwise, you are setting yourself up for failure. Once you have confidently and consistently added a new habit to your life, you can always add another goal or habit.

Want to successfully achieve your life goals and resolutions? Stop comparing yourself to other people and their successes. Each of us is on a different journey traveling at different speeds. Some of us are hustlers and enjoy moving at a fast rabbit pace. Others enjoy gently moving towards our goals.

Ask yourself the following questions:

1. What motivated you to create resolutions for 2023?

2. Are your resolutions changes you want to make or things other people have told you that you need to do?

3. Are these new habits simple, attainable, manageable and easy to do over time? Are you likely to be motivated to continue these habits 30, 60, 90 and 180 days later.
